The trip was amazing, and I will remember it for the rest of my life. The food was amazing, the views were amazing, and the experiences were amazing. Here are just a few of the things that I did/saw: I woke up at 4:45am ish one day to watch this beautiful sunrise from the beach in front of our lodging in Tortugero Exploring La Fortuna. Exploring San Jose, Jacob was in the way.

I had an amazing time in Costa Rica! These are a few pictures from the trip. Our afternoon was spent in the water, draining every last bit of energy out of the students (mine was gone long ago!). We descended 450 steps to the base of Fortuna Falls where they swam in the pool and small lagoon. We had a short walk through the town of Fortuna before hitting the hot springs. Not sure what I expected but the complex is out of this world. We've been kept on message by our wonderful guide, Alvaro, who has been pointing out the conservation goals and progress of the tourism industry at every site. Tomorrow we head back to San Jose with a stop along the way at an artisan coop so we can support the local work and break up our long ride. The view of the volcano is the first thing we saw when we woke up this morning. Our afternoon was spent in the water, draining every last bit of energy out of the students (mine was gone long ago!). Marisa and I couldn't be more proud of our students, your children. They have been first class all the way! As you can tell we've had very limited access for the past two days. Yesterday we had a GREAT whitewater rafting day but didn't carry cameras with us. Today we visited the chocolate facility and learned a ton about sustainable development in the industry. We then headed to the zip line with plenty of photos to come. In a few minutes we leave for Fortunate waterfall and hot springs. Just watched a 400lb leather back turtle lay her eggs on a black sand beach under a million stars. #PuraVida!!
a few pictures from an amazing day before we head off for a night beach walk - guided tour. Words fall short when trying to describe all that we have seen, shared, felt, and experienced in the last 12 hours.
